James Gunn – A Biography

James Gunn is an American screenwriter, director and producer. He was born on August 5, 1966 in St. Louis, Missouri. Initially, he worked as a filing man in a movie studio. Then, he began writing screenplays and directing films. His first work was to adapt the play Romeo and Juliet. After that, he wrote screenplays for several comic book movies.

He has written Scooby-Doo (2002), The Belko Experiment (2017), and Guardians of the Galaxy (2015, 2014, 2012, 2011). In addition, he is also known for his work on Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War (2017) and Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 (2017). Currently, he is married to actress Jennifer Holland. However, the couple separated in 2007. During the separation, James Gunn went to Loyola Marymount Film School in Los Angeles. It is unclear whether or not he completed his coursework.

He is a member of a large Catholic family. Besides his parents, James Gunn has a sister and four brothers. Among them, two are lawyers. As a youngster, he watched many low-budget horror movies. And, he was given a small role in a film.
